Is Drivers Education required in the state of TN?
No, it is not required but highly recommended. Our program is 30 hours of class time divided up over four days. This is where new drivers will learn valuable information such as rules of the road, basic traffic laws, how to tell who has the right of way, what to do if you get pulled over, road rage incidents and how to deal with mechanical breakdowns and much more.
Do I need a permit before starting the class?
No, a lot of the students will have a permit, but you are not required to have it before you start the class. The class will help prepare you for the permit test which you take at the DMV or online.
When do we get to drive?
While driving is included in the package price, the drive time will not occur during the four days of class. You will receive a student portal after day two of class to schedule drive time.
Can I add additional driving time?
Yes, at the end of your package drive time we can always add more time. Additional drive time outside of package price is $130/2hours.
What if I miss a day of class?
You can make up that day in another session. It will have to correspond with the same day you missed. You have one year to finish up both classroom time and driving time.
What is the test out?
If you are obtaining a TN license and have completed the classroom we can conduct the road skills test as part of your final lesson. You will then go to the DMV to get your picture made for your license.
What about lunch during the four days of class?
You need to bring lunch. Our breakroom has a microwave, vending machine and refrigerator.
Can we use my vehicle to do the driving lessons?
No, we must use our cars per state law.
